This requires a tweak in registry if you're missing the GameDVR tab on the XBOX APP. This is usually disabled by default but you know Microsoft, they love to screw things up so force them not to enable it whenever they feel like it. be sure that XBOX DVR are disabled (WIN10 users only). Select the Compatibility tab and place a check mark on Disable fullscreen optimization. For this, what I did was go to the game installation folder, right click on SOTTR.exe and select Properties.

disable fullscreen optimization (WIN10 users only). set processor priority to HIGH in task manager This completely eliminated the problem and I am running Ultra textures. The Highest preset, with Normal Texture Quality has been perfectly playable for a few hours now. After messing around with it some more I found that High and Ultra caused the game to stutter for me. As a test, I then set the game preset to Highest, but set the Texture Quality to low and no more stutter. I then decided to up the Texture Quality to Ultra. I then decided to switch it back to DX12 and set it to the lowest preset. I then turned it to DX11 and the stuttering stopped but I lost a good 10 fps which was problematic in some areas.

So I moved my install to a SSD and same issue. I first had it installed on a WD Black 7200rpm drive and thought the stuttering was caused by not loading new areas fast enough. My troubleshooting steps that led me to this were: This was the same issue I was having and the fix for me was to set the texture quality to Normal.

This works for me so I hope it works for you as well.

Start your game, make sure you set priority to high again cause windows will reset it after game is close and your PC was restarted and you shouldn't get those stutters. Create DWORD 32bit called "AllowGameDVR" and set to 0.Set the value of DWORD "GameDVR_Enabled" to 0 (this should be already at 0 but if not, set it to 0).Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore.be sure that XBOX DVR are disabled (WIN10 users only).

disable fullscreen optimization (WIN10 users only). set processor priority to HIGH in task manager I myself also change the process priority to high and that didn't help until I came across a few other things that needed changing as well. Subreddit Banner edited for r/TombRaider by u/JadedDarkness
